How do we plan an elopement?

As elopement photographers with over 10 years of experience we help our couples with any planning they may need. If you need help finding a place to stay, we’re always up for helping you find a place to that lines up with your wants. If your plans require an officiant, hair and makeup, desserts, food, or activities, we’ve got reputable vendors that we trust as our recommendations! Once you’ve got all the elements of your elopement booked, we join up with our couples to create a timeline that keeps everyone on the same page.

Do you shoot film?

We love film! And we’re happy to include that as something we offer all of our couples. Our unique combination of film and film cameras give a look that just can’t be emulated with digital cameras. We use our film offerings as a complement to our standard digital photography coverage.

Do we need permits?

Permits aren’t always required, but doing due diligence to secure them when needed can help avoid any issues on the day of your elopement. Requirements for permits vary for each location even within the state and federal lands. We are well versed in navigating the needed permits and we can help guide you through any necessary processes.

We want to elope but our family wants us to have a more traditional wedding. What do we do?

Some couples love the idea of a more peaceful, private approach to their big day - and we wholeheartedly approve! However, some family members may voice their concerns (or disapproval) of going the elopement route. "What about your aunt - or your grandpa? Don't you want them to see you get married?" We totally understand, family is important! But at the end of the day we are firm believers in doing what YOU feel is best for your wedding day. So to those who want to elope but aren't sure how to break it to their family we offer this: let your family know how important they are to you and instead of feeling pressured to live up to everyone's expectations for your big day, you are so excited to get married in a beautiful secluded location. You can also offer to have a reception type party with close friends and family to celebrate your union!

What qualifies as an elopement?

What qualifies as an intimate wedding?

An intimate wedding, for us, is any gathering of up to 25 people. These usually have aspects of more traditional weddings with the possibility of a bridal party, a ceremony, and reception. One way to look at it is a middle ground between eloping on your own and a full sized wedding. Also, intimate weddings may take place in more non-conventional places like a large Air Bnb in the woods, a cabin in Mount Hood, or a worldwide destination.

Will you help us find the perfect spot for our adventure session or elopement?

Absolutely! Part of what we offer all of our clients is a detailed list of locations (which include our favorite spots and hidden gems). We take all of your must haves and compile a customized list of locations based on what you love!
