Emerald + Cameron
Every elopement experience has no shortage of magic; and it’s all because of each couple’s unique bond and story. For Cameron + Emerald, their love story began at Mcredie Springs in Oregon. The first moment they laid eyes on each other took place at that hot spring, where they were immediately drawn to one another. Emerald approached Cameron and asked him if he would share a moment with her: being grounded, soaking in the hot springs under the stars. It was in that instance that the two of them knew there was something magnetic between them!
Fast forward three years later, and we find Emerald + Cameron living in their converted school bus they thoughtfully named “Wandering Nimbus” with their pup, planning their Oregon elopement!
Cameron works as a firefighter, meaning that his busy work schedule often keeps him away from home for weeks at a time. Armed with this information, Emerald + Cameron knew that they had only a few short weeks to figure out the logistics of their Oregon elopement [with our help!].
When images of the Pacific Northwest dance in your head, deserts rarely play a role. But Oregon, California, and Washington are home to so many diverse landscapes! Tucked away in a little corner of Oregon lies the Alvord Desert: a dry lake bed that is one of the largest playas in Oregon.
Emerald + Cameron were drawn to the Alvord Desert for their elopement because they knew its unique location could help incorporate elements that make their relationship, theirs! Its close proximity to the Alvord Hot Springs was fitting, as the two of them wanted to include an aspect related to how they first met.

Emerald + Cameron wanted a few fellow buslife friends to join them during their adventure elopement: one friend to help Emerald get ready, one of Cameron's firefighting cohorts to officiate their ceremony, and a friend who cooked up all of Cameron + Emerald's favorite snacks all day long [heart shaped pizzas and an apple-infused wedding cake was just perfect for the two of them!]
Personalized touches adorned their Oregon elopement day, such as a wind chime hanging from their wedding archway that belonged to Cameron's late mother. As the desert breeze swirled around the chimes and made them sing, they both knew that Cameron's mother was there in spirit.
Emerald hails from Hawaii, and included a traditional moment of silence to honor each other and loved ones lost. They also wanted to pay tribute to Cameron's native heritage, as he cleansed all of us with sage before they said their vows.
Emerald + Cameron had their elopement ceremony below the vast Oregon desert sky, with Steens Mountain looming in the distance. Cheers were then shared as the two of them kissed to seal their new marriage!
After a meal of pizza and cake, Emerald + Cameron journeyed across the Alvord Desert playa to the hot springs. Adventure is a word that comes naturally to these two, surprising onlookers as they dove into the hot springs in their full wedding attire!
So much of their Oregon desert elopement day was filled with emotions ranging from excitement, gratitude, fun, and unbridled love. In the warm water of Alvord hot springs, Emerald + Cameron shed both their clothing and inhibitions, to experience a moment of intimacy between the two of them as the sun hung low in the desert sky.
