An adventure elopement often means eloping in a gorgeous, unique natural area; surrounded by a serene environment in which you can truly soak up this priceless time with your partner. Eloping in the Pacific Northwest means you have your choice of multiple National Parks to serve as the stunning backdrop during your adventure elopement. From North Cascades National Park, to Olympic National Park...arriving in the magical spot of Tasha + Chad's elopement at Mount Rainier National Park!
Chad + Tasha wanted their elopement day to encompass their relationship to its fullest expression: incorporating their adoration of the outdoors and each other! We met Tasha + Chad before sunrise at Sunrise Visitor's Center [serendipity!], Mount Rainier National Park's highest visitor facility. The four of us would be hiking to a fire lookout, for these two to recite their vows against Mount Rainier's alpenglow as the sun rose.
The trail was quite busy, being a summer day in the PNW, but that was to be expected at such a popular trail at Mount Rainier! Having an adventure elopement photographer to help guide you with the best time of year to elope at a specific location, backup locations just in case, along with a healthy dose of resilience can really help alleviate any elopement planning stress! Tasha + Chad shared laughter and palpable excitement as we made our way to the summit. Once we arrived at the fire lookout, we were able to scope out a private spot, away from the hustle and bustle of fellow hikers.
The brilliant summer sunshine illuminated the bride and groom, hand in hand; as Mount Rainier [also known as Tahoma, originally named by the Puyallup tribe] loomed majestically over their elopement ceremony. Tasha + Chad were able to soak in these moments together, the mountain breeze, the birdsong, each other's heartbeats. Their elopement ceremony was the definition of magic.
After we made our way back down to the trailhead, we caravanned to the other side of the park. Reflection Lake awaits!
Reflection Lake is a picturesque body of water in the Paradise area of Mount Rainier National Park. Having nature serve as your wedding venue means being open to sudden trail closures, crowds, or potential weather changes [especially with the many microclimates of Oregon and Washington]. Here at Reflection Lake, as the name suggests, there is often a beautiful view of Mount Rainier both behind the lake and across the shimmering water. On Tasha + Chad's elopement day, the clouds rolled in and Tahoma decided to hide behind them! We were all exceedingly grateful to have been graced by the mountain's presence during their elopement ceremony, and Reflection Lake is still a gorgeous location on its own! After basking in their devotion to each other on the banks of the water, Chad + Tasha headed back to their A-Frame Airbnb for a nap and a tasty meal by a private chef. Such a personal and distinctive elopement day!
Your elopement day is liable to be unique in every sense of the word. From location, to the weather, and of course; the love you + your partner have created together. It is EVERYTHING to be able to have an adventure elopement that is profoundly YOURS.
