Mollie + Corey hail from the mountainous state of Colorado; the aspect of adventure seeping into every part of their relationship. The two of them met while attending college in Boston, and quickly decided that Colorado was where they wanted to settle down together.
The Pacific Northwest called to them when planning their elopement: Mollie says, "we hadn't ever been to Oregon or Washington, but loved that idea of an early fall, moody/rainy setting for exchanging our vows!"
Visiting as many national parks as possible is an endeavor that Mollie + Corey consider their favorite adventure together. Being able to incorporate activities that you enjoy doing together as a couple is a truly special and unique approach to impart meaning during your elopement day.
The Pacific Northwest lays claim to a number of national parks, including Crater Lake, and Mount Rainier. But the mossy hues and driftwood-dotted coastlines of Washington's Olympic National Park caught Mollie + Corey's eyes, fitting scenery for an adventurous Washington elopement.
Drizzling rain dampened the emerald-green trees of Hoh Rainforest, while simultaneously giving Mollie + Corey solitude during their Olympic National Park elopement.
Mollie + Corey roamed around the Hall of Mosses, brilliant golden leaves at their feet, curious elk looking on from the mist-enrobed trees. Rain smattered Mollie's denim jacket, adorned with patches from every national park that her + Corey have visited. Having these moments to just BE together as a couple is something we will always advocate for! So often, more traditional weddings can command a strict timeline, leaving out one of the most important parts of getting married: time together with your partner! When you choose the route of an adventure elopement; time can slow. Instances to listen, absorb, breathe, and exist are plentiful. Relax your shoulders down your back, unclench your jaw, exhale.
Mollie + Corey decided to exchange their vows on the shores of the Pacific Ocean: Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park. Ruby Beach boasts distinctive rock formations, molded by the sea. Stones + pebbles decorate the ground, each similar to one another yet unrepeated.
While Mollie + Corey said their vows to each other amongst the ocean's soundtrack, the two of us documented yet gave space. We feel it is crucial to strike a balance in capturing these special moments, while not detracting from the intimacy.
Rings swapped,a dance shared, and a moody walk along the coast of one of Washington's prettiest beaches. Snack time!
Cake is synonymous with weddings. But why? If you aren't a cake person, it's not a requirement. Bring along your favorite foods, drinks, desserts...it is YOUR day! Since Mollie + Corey adore hiking, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches are often on the menu. For their Olympic National Park elopement? No exception!
Mollie + Corey would then spend more time exploring the Pacific Northwest, including stops at Mount Rainier National Park, the Oregon Coast, and the Columbia River Gorge before heading back home; just-married bliss tagging along.
