When life hands you a pandemic + a Seattle work trip, you elope in the Pacific Northwest.
Katelyn + Murray reside in Los Angeles, but wanted to take advantage of their recent stay in the Pacific Northwest by eloping at one of the most picturesque spots in Oregon; a stunning viewpoint near Mount Hood.
We are and always will be advocates for adventure elopements, as they allow you the freedom to pick and choose any traditional elements of bigger weddings you may desire, while leaving the "fluff" and stress behind. That being said, there really hasn't been a stressor quite like the COVID-19 pandemic. With many couples in 2020 having to cancel or postpone large weddings or gatherings, adventure elopements are the answer.
Although Katelyn + Murray were choosing to elope just the two of them, their officiant, and us as witnesses [and who could forget their adorable dog, April?!], there are still complications to navigate through when planning an event of any size during a pandemic. Friends, this is why it is so important to ensure your elopement photographers are up to date on the latest closures, government guidance, and restrictions. Nothing puts a damper on what is supposed to be a magical day than showing up to a trailhead only to discover it has been closed! Research is paramount to us; your elopement day deserves that.
With a list of potential locations in Oregon and Washington in hand, Katelyn + Murray decided on this beautiful place near Mount Hood for their elopement.
The mountains create their own weather patterns, which means keeping an eye on forecasts, as they could change drastically. Luckily, Katelyn + Murray's adventure elopement day weather changed for the better, with the Oregon downpours letting up just in time to hike to the viewpoint of Mount Hood.
Low-lying clouds kissed the Cascade foothills where the trees looked even more green, Katelyn + Murray hand in hand exchanging jokes and vows, as April the pup looked on. Eloping during this crazy time: definitely an adventure to remember!
