The beaches of Washington, Oregon, and California are some of my favorite places to shoot elopements. Katie + Ben decided that they wanted to have their elopement take place on the Oregon Coast, with the Pacific Ocean in the background as they said their wedding vows.
There is such a sense of untamed romance when it comes to eloping on the Oregon Coast. Places such as Cannon Beach, with its iconic Haystack Rock and misty shoreline, are especially popular for couples seeking a moody, romantic setting that feels both cinematic and deeply personal! Whether standing barefoot in the sand or exchanging vows on a cliffside bluff, an Oregon Coast elopement is all about connection—to your partner, of course, but also to the wild beauty of the landscape.
Katie + Ben wanted their Oregon elopement to reflect what they love best, which includes adventuring around the coastline and seeing what Oregon has to offer! Their elopement ceremony had them perched high above the waves, and then we ventured down to sea level near the cozy town of Cannon Beach for some beachside wedding photos. At this specific spot on the Oregon Coast, there is a seasonal waterfall that is only accessible during low tide. Luckily, we were able to sneak around the cape so that Ben + Katie could have some moments with the ocean waves and waterfall mist. Talk about romance!
After having a waterfall be a part of their wedding day, we ventured further down Oregon's coastline where the famous Haystack Rock looms in the distance. Katie + Ben’s Oregon Coast wedding was just what these two wanted: low-key, romantic, and picturesque. Anelopement on the Oregon Coast—especially in places like Cannon Beach—is ideal for couples who crave authenticity, natural beauty, and a day that’s truly their own.

Here's a breakdown of beaches across the Northern, Central, and Southern Oregon Coasts, along with elopement-worthy locations in each area:
Vibe: Dramatic rock formations, iconic landmarks, and charming coastal towns.
Top Beaches & Elopement Locations:
Why Elope Here?
Iconic Haystack Rock, misty + moody vibes, wide sandy beaches. Easy access to cute towns for lodging + dining!
Best spots: Near Haystack Rock at low tide, or choose an elopement at Ecola State Park (for ocean cliff views).
Why Elope Here?
Waterfalls, caves, and cliffs right on the beach, oh my! This spot on the Oregon Coast is secluded, yet accessible.
Best spots: Near the waterfall, or inside one of the beachside caves at low tide.
Why Elope Here?
Orange sandstone cliffs, massive dunes, and tidepools make this location on the Oregon Coast totally picturesque for your elopement. As a bonus, Cape Kiwanda is gorgeous at sunset!
Best spots: Up on the dune for views or tucked beside the rock formations.
Vibe: Lush forests meet craggy coastlines, often less crowded, with peaceful hidden gems. The Central Oregon Coast can be an intimate location for your Oregon elopement!
Top Beaches & Elopement Locations:
Why Elope Here?
Rocky coastline, dramatic waves, and lush forested bluffs mean the backdrop for your Oregon Coast elopement will be epic!
Best spots: Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, Thor’s Well, or the tidepools near Smelt Sands State Park.
Why Elope Here?
Panoramic coastal views take your elopement to the next level, with a peek at a historic lighthouse in the distance of the Pacific Ocean.
Best spots: Near the lighthouse (with a permit, and we are here to help with that!) OR the beach below for a vibe that is classically Pacific Northwest.
Why Elope Here?
Oceanside is a quaint place for your Oregon Coast elopement. This spot is quiet, scenic, and known for Tunnel Beach, accessed through a short rock tunnel.
Best spots: Tunnel Beach at sunset or the cliffs above for sweeping views.
Vibe: Wild, remote, and incredibly photogenic—think sea stacks, dramatic cliffs, and fewer crowds. The Southern Oregon Coast is one of our fave places for beach weddings and elopements!
Top Beaches & Elopement Locations:
Why Elope Here?
Bandon Beach is known for towering sea stacks, moody skies, and epic sunsets. My second shooter and I stumbled upon this beach during sunset while out on the Southern Oregon Coast for an elopement, and we were absolutely stunned by the golden hues!
Best spots: Face Rock viewpoint, the tidepools, or among the rocks during golden hour.
Why elope here: Arguably the most dramatic stretch of coastline in Oregon! We think that the Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor is one of the best locations for an Oregon Coast elopement. In this area, you'll be greeted by cliffside arches, secret coves, and forested trails.
Best spots: Natural Bridges, Secret Beach, or Cape Ferrelo—ideal for couples craving adventure and drama.
Why Elope Here?
Serene beaches and access to both the Rogue River and coastal cliffs, you can even have the best of both worlds by taking elopement photos in Oregon AND California on this part of the Oregon Coast.
Best spots: Otter Point or the beach at sunrise for soft lighting and solitude.
What beach is more your vibe?!
